Costume-verse
Bianca Toni, Costume-verse reflects on the practice of wearing a costume, through which the cosplay subculture structures itself and manifests its collective symbolic universe. A space that contains, but without content, an atom without a nucleus. There is no aesthetic, no univocal representation, no myth. Identity is a multiform envelope. The creation and dressing of the costume define an intimate space in which the virtual plane and physical and craft acts overlap: the reiteration of the ritual attributes sacredness to the ceaselessly reconstituted identifications. Wearing the costume is a serious and affective nostalgic game.
